US President Donald Trump has imposed sanctions on Russia’s top oil firms, Rosneft and Lukoil, to pressure Russia’s President Vladimir Putin on a ceasefire in Ukraine. The EU has also approved a 19th round of sanctions, with Russian gas exports targeted. President Zelenskyy welcomed the moves, which Russia has described as ‘counterproductive’.
