Shocking CCTV footage shows the moment a young man was mowed down by a car as he tried to cross a road in Mandurah.
TJ Wells, 18, was trying to cross Mandurah Terrace when an car crossed onto the wrong side of the road before hitting him from behind about 12.30pm on Monday.
Confronting footage obtained by 7NEWS shows the moment the 18-year-old was hit from behind before he was thrown into the air, causing him to land on the ground.

The vehicle is then seen leaving the scene.

The young man’s friends were present and were captured on footage attending to Mr Wells, who appeared motionless.
St John WA and police arrived at the scene a short time later.
The 18-year-old was transported to Peel Health Campus on Monday afternoon before he was discharged with minor injuries, which included a gash to his head, scratches and bruising.
Police told 7NEWS they were investigating the incident.
