A 58-year-old armed gunman accused of shooting a woman in the Mid West town of Mullewa is on the run.
Police allege Kenneth John Giles shot a woman known to him following an altercation at a property on Urawa Road — about 24km north of Mullewa — about 5.20pm on Wednesday.
The woman was taken to hospital via ambulance and is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Mr Giles allegedly fled the scene with a firearm, and is believed to be travelling in a white Nissan Patrol Utility with the WA registration 1BIY336.
He is described as being about 173cm tall, of medium build, with brown hair and brown eyes.

Police have deployed significant resources, including the Tactical Response Group, to the area.
Mullewa locals have been urged to be aware of their surroundings and be on the lookout for Mr Giles or his car.
Anyone with information is urged to call police immediately on triple-0.
Mullewa Railway Hotel owner Dimitri Christoforou said he was still serving guests at the pub on Wednesday evening, but was considering locking the front doors as information spread through the town because he was “concerned”.
“Some people have been ringing about what they heard on the news,” he said.
“All I know is there’s somebody running around with a gun.
“We’ve got customers that have been coming in for dinner or buying drinks, I’m thinking about locking the doors just for safety reasons.”
Mullewa is about 450km north of Perth and 98km north-east of Geraldton, and is renowned for its abundance of wildflowers.
