Wrenegades lead the ladder after five rounds of the Albany Volleyball Association men’s premier league.
With four wins and a draw from their five outings, they lead OGs by two points with Pirates two points further adrift in third.
Top players so far from the competition are Zac Wilsher (OGs), Matt Adams (Wrenegades) and Thornton Hambley (Phantoms).
Sirens, with their 100 per cent record, are top of the table in the women’s premier league with the leaders’ Hannah Kimpton, Paige Johnson (Pirates) and Alaia Williams (OGs), impressing so far.
Pirates are closest in pursuit of Sirens but are already four points behind while Redbacks trail by a further four in third.
The A-mixed division continues to deliver high-quality volleyball, with Sam Macaulay (Albanian Hogs), Thornton Hambley (Black Ops), Luke Russell (Wrenegades), Johan Dela Merced (NASHS Country Week), and Esther Daw (Upsetters), all earning best player honours.
B-mixed competition players recognised included Andy Nguyen (AVA Development Team), Adrielle Liwanag (Joeys), Marcey O’Donnell (Dead Set), Jemma McKeon (Just the Tip), Reuben Lemmes (Lemmingos), and Riley Eaton (Sonics Grey).
The association is thriving with 52 teams taking to the courts each week across competitive and social clashes.

In the junior competitive grade there have been impressive efforts from Zoe Letter (Trent and the Year 10s), and Riley Arthur (Sonics Blue).
In the junior development divisions, Stella Daniel (Griffin Stings) and Arlo Parker (OG Juniors) have had stand-out starts to the campaign.
