A man has been charged over a bizarre stunt involving dangling over the Kwinana Freeway dressed as Spider-Man.
Wild images of the 41-year-old emerged on Thursday aternoon, showing the costumed crusader hanging from the Como bridge using a metal chain and harness.
One photo showed the masked man casually holding his phone as he looked out at the hundreds of cars crawling along the freeway below, near South Terrace.
Another showed a woman walking across the bridge, unaware of the peculiar scene unfolding just two metres below her.
WA Police, St John WA and the Department of Fire and Emergency Services were called to the scene and closed the freeway — causing peak hour traffic chaos — before using a cherry picker to remove him from the bridge.
The man was assessed by St John WA before being arrested and taken to a local police station.
The 41-year-old, from Shoalwater, has been charged with endangering life, health or safety and is due to face Perth Magistrates Court on May 9.
