MOSCOW: Russia and North Korea on Wednesday (Apr 30) began construction of a road bridge between the two countries that will span the Tumen river, part of an effort to strengthen their strategic partnership, Russia’s prime minister said. The bridge is being built near the existing “Friendship Bridge”, a rail bridge which was commissioned in 1959 after the Korean war. Overnight strikes hit Houthi drone manufacturing sites, says British Defence Ministry.Forces from the United States and the United Kingdom have carried out joint air strikes near Yemen’s capital, Sanaa, targeting what British authorities say were drone manufacturing facilities of the Houthi armed group. MANILA: A Chinese national was arrested while operating a surveillance device near the offices of the Philippine election commission, authorities said on Wednesday (Apr 30), less than two weeks before the country’s mid-term polls. Senate Democrats have asked the U.S. Government Accountability Office to review the FBI Director Kash Patel’s personal travel on government aircraft, according to GAO and congressional sources.  The review will examine Patel’s use of the FBI’s private fleet of jets, as well as every director’s approach since 2013, when the GAO last studied the issue.
