SINGAPORE: A China-linked, Singapore-based firm has laid off hundreds of employees and is going into liquidation after it was slapped with sanctions by the United States last month. CCIC Singapore was among 15 companies blacklisted by the US on May 13 for helping to conceal the origins of Iranian oil being shipped to China. Green Party Leader and Guelph MPP Mike Schreiner is calling on the province to allow municipalities to charge gas companies to use public land.
